The Benefits of Mass Mailings

FotoBiz 2.0 includes new special features to automate your mass communications with your clients. You can use these new features to target clients for your mailings or emails. You can output the names as an email header, print labels for your mailing, or export a file to send to a mailing service like Modern Postcard.

I believe that clear consistent communication with clients is one of the main keys to your success. Whether it's with a phone call, email or a printed direct mail piece, regular communication with your client is essential. The contact management capability included now in fotoBiz 2.0 makes staying in touch with your clients automatic, easy and professional.

The fall is a great season for marketing yourself and is the perfect time to touch base with your clients. Let them know about any new services you might be offering, website updates or special offers or awards you have recently won.

One of the best ways to get clients to your website is with a small mailer or postcard. If you sent them an email you might get them to visit your site, but a couple of weeks down the road, after all of the similar emails from other photographers, you and your site will likely be a faded memory.

If you send them a card, and they like the image, it will probably end up on the wall over their desk. I've seen these cards hanging on art buyer's walls from San Francisco to New York. Posters are too big to hang, and fancy mail pieces, if kept, will end up in a file drawer to be forgotten. Keep it simple, send them a card, and then in a few weeks, send another. Repeat this a few times. Follow the card up with a short and simple email with the same picture embedded. A marketing message works best when it is repeated at regular intervals.

In fotoBiz 2.0, you are able to assign attributes to each of your clients, like geographical location, keywords, client type or status. Use those attributes to select groups for your mailings and emails. You can fine-tune the group by adding or eliminating individuals from it.

Once you have created your group, with a click of a button, you can create the labels for your mailing, an e-mail header of all selected names or your exported list for the printer. You will be asked to give the mailing a name, so that it can be logged in the mailing history for each client in the group. You'll also be asked to enter the number of days until the next mailing for this group.

A MAILING button will be posted in the fotoBiz Calendar for the day you want to send your next mailing. On that day, you simply click the MAILING button and fotoBiz will automatically find the same group of contacts and set them up for your next mailing. You can repeat this process as often as you like.
